Sure, these men are out there trying to keep your home from burning, but don't deserve free food. And I have to say that some of the asides in this book about how Jack doesn't feed firefighters who are the "felon" squads ticked me off. I have no idea why Carr didn't focus on the main couple. We have appearances by Mike, Preacher, and Paige. The main couple (Vanni and Paul sucked) but Carr decides to force in romances for a friend of Paul and Vanni's and then we have too much focus on Jack and Mel, and then we have Walter and a retired Hollywood actress, and I know I am blanking on someone else. With courage, humility and not a little meddling from the good folks of Virgin River, Vanni and Paul might just get a second chance to have the love they both desire and deserve. ![]() Now, just as he’s about to make his move, another woman has staked her claim on him-a claim that will be tough to escape. Welcome back to Virgin River with the books that inspired the hit Netflix series… Susan Elizabeth Phillips, #1 New York Times bestselling author Robyn says that, in addition to reading her novels and making snide remarks about how she’s used family scenarios to her advantage, they have made her a happy grandmother.“For great storytelling and beautifully drawn characters, enter the world of Robyn Carr.” Robyn and her husband enjoy traveling, often taking research trips together. Set in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, What We Find explores the healing powers of rural Colorado in a brand-new story of fresh starts, budding relationships and one woman’s journey to finding the happiness she’s long been missing. In April 2016 MIRA books will publish their first Robyn Carr hardcover novel, What We Find, the introduction to a new series by the popular author. She believes there’s great value in her novels dealing with real issues in a realistic manner. She says that reading is important because people need a safe place to deal with the emotions they’re stuck with, and a book is a safe place to do that. She also tried her hand at non-fiction and what she smilingly describes as “several brilliant but as yet unsold screenplays,” in addition to articles and short stories. Needing a change, she branched out and wrote a thriller, which she said she’ll never do again because, for her, it was too creepy. ![]() For the first fifteen years of her career she wrote romance, the early books of which were all historical, but later included contemporaries. Robyn has always written about strong women, no matter the period in which they live. When doctors instructed her to stay down and keep her feet up during a complicated pregnancy, her neighbor began bringing her ten paperbacks a week. Her husband worked long hours and often traveled. Because she found herself following Jim from base to base, Robyn never had a chance to pursue nursing. She married her high school sweetheart four weeks before he left for Air Force Officer’s Training School at the peak of the Vietnam War. Surprisingly, Robyn didn’t always know she wanted to be a writer. The Hero, her September 2013 Thunder Point novel, debuted in the #1 position on seven national bestseller lists: USA Today, Publishers Weekly, New York Times Mass-market Fiction, New York Times eBook Fiction, New York Times Combined Print/eBook Fiction, the Wall Street Journal, and Bookscan. Eleven of her books, including eight Thunder Point novels, have all earned the coveted #1 New York Times slot the first week on sale, with one book scoring two weeks on top the list. When Bring Me Home for Christmas, the 16th Virgin River novel, was released in November 2011, it debuted in the #1 slot not just on the New York Times roster, but also on the Barnes & Noble and Publishers Weekly lists as well. But that was just the beginning of what has become an amazing career. Robyn Carr was first published in 1978, and it took her thirty years to make it to The New York Times bestseller List,” referring to 2007’s A Virgin River Christmas.
